IOCB Tech is pleased to announce that Prof. Ing. Martin Fusek, CSc., has been appointed as a member of the Research, Development, and Innovation Council (RVVI) by the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic. This prestigious appointment reflects Prof. Fusek’s longstanding contributions to science and innovation, particularly in the field of technology transfer.

A leading figure in the Czech research and innovation ecosystem, Prof. Fusek has played a critical role in transforming scientific ideas into real-world applications. Since 2007, he has worked tirelessly to advance technology transfer at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences (IOCB), and in 2009 co-founded IOCB Tech—the country’s first dedicated technology transfer office. His work has helped to close the gap between fundamental research and its commercialization, paving the way for numerous successful preclinical projects and attracting international partners and investors.

The nomination was put forward by Marek Ženíšek, Minister for Science, Research, and Innovation, who commented:

“I am pleased that the government has accepted my proposal to appoint Professor Fusek, a renowned scientist at the Academy of Sciences, IOCB, and a leading expert in transferring research results into practice. This is an area crucial for the future development of the Czech Republic.”

As a member of the RVVI, Prof. Fusek will contribute to high-level strategic planning in research and innovation, advise on science funding policies, promote international cooperation, and support the creation of a dynamic innovation environment in the Czech Republic.

This recognition underscores not only Prof. Fusek’s personal achievements, but also IOCB Tech’s ongoing mission to turn scientific excellence into tangible societal impact.

We warmly congratulate Prof. Fusek on this well-deserved appointment and wish him continued success in shaping the future of Czech science and innovation.
